8 Sneaky Ways to Get Healthy and Fit without Trying (Ask Amber Series)

Hi Amber, I have been reading a lot about how to get healthy and am feeling a little overwhelmed. Where should I start? Bonnie M.   Bonnie, Great question. I have found a lot of people struggle with the same information overload. The hardest part of getting healthy is actually knowing where to start. There is so much information at our fingertips with the internet that it is hard to know what to listen to. Add in all the self-proclaimed health gurus out there and it can be overwhelming. It seems all the information is conflicting when it comes to nutrition and fitness recommendations that I find a lot of people just give up. There are two tips I give my coaching clients to follow: When it comes to nutrition, focus on eating more plants and cutting out processed food. When it comes to fitness, get moving doing whatever you enjoy. {Read More…}

How to be Successful: Lessons I learned from Sports!

Sports have always been a big part of my life. I grew up being involved with everything from dance and gymnastics to softball, basketball, volleyball, and even golf. There is not a better feeling than being a part of a team and working with other people to reach a goal: win! Although I have grown up since then and the availability of sports teams to be a part of has diminished, my love for playing the game has not changed and the lessons I learned will stick with me for the rest of my life. This past week I was thinking back over my glory days of being MVP or making All-Tournament Team to those days without awards where it was just fun to get out there and play! I truly miss being a part of a team and playing a game that I love. However, through this reflection back {Read More…}
