Why all those diets out there are what is actually making you gain weight and killing you:
So we have all heard of all those diets out there. There are those weight loss plans where you have to count every little calorie, every gram of carbohydrates, and fat grams. There are those low fat, low carb, and high protein diets.
Have you heard about the latest diet plan out there: the junk food diet where you just eat junk food? There are also all those weight loss supplements that have high promises and a low delivery rate. There is also the ______ diet (fill in the blank with your last weight loss attempt). There are so many gimicks out there just wanting your money.
All these diet plans out there offer early weight loss but then after you end the diet, your body just gains the weight right back plus more! You can’t do these diets for long periods of time. You are not better off in the long run with this weight loss schemes.
It is just a viscious cycle!
Why all the confusing reports and why your doctor won’t help you out:
All the weight loss information is very confusing. When I started doing the research of the industry a few years ago, it took quite a while before I was able to decipher the truth of what is actually a good weight loss solutions.
What adds to the confusion is that most of those diet plans are created by so called experts and even some doctors. Don’t lose heart though! It doesn’t have to be confusing when you know what to look for actual weight loss you can keep off.
It is also confusing because everyone is saying they have the long-awaited miracle wieght loss plan that offers quick weight loss. This quick weight loss plan sounds great since they claim you can still eat the junk that you want. There are studies and testimonials to back up, but honestly, its not what you need.
As far as your doctor is concerned, medical schools offer an average of 1 hour of nutrition. This means they know as much as you (or less if you have been reading this blog for a while) and fall for some of the same advertising that you do!
The real way to lose weight and get healthy:
How do you find out which weight loss plan is right for you? How about switching gears from what will help you lose weight the quickest to a weight loss plan that you can actually turn into your life plan that lets you eat colorful and awesome tasting foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains.
This is the weight loss plan and healthy living plan that focuses on the nutrient-calorie ratio of your food. In other words, it focuses on eating food that has the highest amount of nutrients.
Your body will naturally feel full on fewer calories since your are getting more nutrients. Think of your weight loss diet like this: your body feels hungry because it needs certain nutrients to function properly so it tells you to eat by giving you that feeling of being hungry.
When it gets those nutrients, it feels full and you stay full for a while. This isn’t due to you overstuffing yourself, its because your body is satisfied. It can actually go to work! Processed foods (including white flour, white rice, white bread, etc) and animal products are very low in nutrient value per calories. So you eat more and don’t feel full as long.
When you eat high on the nutrient/calorie scale, your body will naturally lose weight and find its ideal weight. Your body is actually made to be thin! Forget slow metabolism, this diet works every time! Our focus needs to shift from quick weight loss to being healthy so the weight naturally melts off and stays off!!!
