What is the big deal about MSG?
Well, MSG is a neurotoxin that makes your food taste good.
How does it do that?
In monosodium glutamate, the monosodium is a flavor enhancer which can make anything taste good. They can make sludge taste good with monosodium! The glutamate excites your brain into thinking you are eating something very good for you! It makes you think what you are eating is the best thing ever! So, monosodium glutamate (MSG) makes your body think its eating something that tastes really good and gets really excited about it.
Why is that a problem?
MSG is toxic in large amounts which are found in the current American eating habits. There are so many different foods out there that use MSG that the amount your body is getting is in the toxic range.
The way MSG works is it tricks your tongue into thinking you are eating something extremely nutritious when you are just eating a bunch of chemicals and additives packaged as food. Packaged food is not nutrient dense which means you are getting very little nutrients for your money.
When you ingest MSG, you increase your insulin production in your body from your pancreas. What this does is lower your blood sugar level. And the problem is? When your blood sugar level is low, your body thinks it is hungry. It is looking for another food source.
The problem with this is that MSG makes you eat more. This leads to obesity and a bunch of other health conditions. It causes damage to your nervous system and an imbalance of your neurotransmitters.
